ABOUT

When I was ten years-old, I was the second fastest 100-meter
backstroker in the world in my age group. From that point on, my life took a
downward spiral as I swam only a few seconds faster over the course of the
following ten years, achieving the longest known plateau in the history of
swimming. The good news is I’ve been desperately trying to be number one at
something ever since.
Though nothing will ever compare to the fleeting success I achieved as a child, I’ve managed to collect a few awards in advertising including The One Show (sliver pencils), Communication arts, The Art Director’s club, Cannes finalist, the London International Advertising Awards, and the Los Angeles Belding Bowl & finalist.
I’ve had a long freelance career and worked remotely pre-pandemic, Pre-Mad Men, and pre-Google IPO. This might make you wonder, how has she sustained such a successful remote freelance career, while managing to pull together a half-decent portfolio? Well, I’ve had the good fortune of freelancing at some super decent agencies the likes of 180 LA, 72+Sunny, The Martin Agency, TBWA/Chiat, W+K, and CP&B. Plus, I’ve worked with some really cool, talented people.
Before entering the freelance world, I worked at Fallon, TBWA/Chiat, and Vitro in San Diego, where I earned my first One Show Pencil as a wee junior art director.
In my spare time, I enjoy mountain biking, trail running, signing animal rights petitions, and screenwriting. In fact, a couple of my scripts have won and placed high in some of the top screenwriting contests in the world, which won me a literary agent and manager in Hollywood in just two years. Say, what?!
For the last 15 years I’ve been married to an awesome dude named Greg who continues to put up with my Kellyness on a daily basis.
